My Magic Carpet- My Yoga Mat
My yoga mat is my “Magic Carpet” because when I’m on it, I discover places within me that I never knew existed. Besides, it helps me to navigate my inner world magically. I’m most calm and happiest during my practice. In this hectic world, my mat helps me maintain my sanity because that is my comfort place. I love to travel to far ends of the globe with wanderlust in my veins and my mat in hand.
My yoga practice blossoms the inner landscape and shines my outer world. It plants in me the seeds that have the possibilities and abilities for life-long transformations. Yoga lifts my body, mind, and spirit because it constantly nourishes me. I soar and sway with the breezes of life peacefully and calmly. Additionally, it grounds me. Thus, I’m stable and steady no matter what comes my way. It reminds me that my body is a sacred vessel for spirit and home of the divine essence.
Inner path to self-realization
I love and admire the pure dichotomy of the practice. The stark contrast between strength and power compared to grace and surrender. I enjoy the beautiful dance between the two extremes that happens on and off my mat every day. Yoga teaches me to be non-judgemental and accept everyone with an open heart and open mind and see the world as it is. It motivates and helps me to understand that YOGA is ultimately the inner path to self-realization.
Voyage of self-discovery
Yoga is not just about practicing asanas but a way of living. I love the physical challenge it brings with it. It helps me in gaining strength, flexibility and creating a space in my body and mind. It brings about a subtle internal change.
My yoga journey is a voyage of self-discovery. It’s the most healing, humbling and, life- transformative experience for me. It creates a space for me to mend, love and, expand. It helps me to find sanity in a hectic world. I cultivate a healthy body, a peaceful mind, a joyful heart and, a vibrant spirit. Yoga helps me to turn within and feel grounded.
It teaches me to live in the moment and feel one’s breath, away from the frenetic outside world. During my yoga practice, especially during Ashtanga, I experience a sense of stillness and calmness.
With my regular practice, I become more thoughtful of my thought patterns. I accept my thoughts without judgment and let them go gracefully. I learn how to separate myself from my thoughts and how to connect my movement with my breath. It teaches me to live more presently. Surrendering yourself is the key to good practice. Daily showing up on my mat taught me that discipline and consistent practice takes you a long way.
Why do you come to your yoga mat?
I come to my mat to find calmness under pressure. To rise from challenges, to create a space, or even to build strength. Yoga is not about the shape of your body but defines your life. It doesn’t care about what you have been but focuses on the person you are becoming. It teaches us to be authentic.
Build a practice that lasts a lifetime. Your health- in your hands. Your lifestyle choices tell a lot about you. They could build your soul a home that is a castle that can weather life with grace, or they could cobble together a shack that feels unwell daily and falls apart. Choose wisely!!!
